A bizarre 18th-century mansion with opposing façades in different styles; the west front is classical, the east front Gothick, reflecting the divergence in taste of the owner and his wife. There is a Victorian laundry and pastime centre, as well as a sawmill and cornmill, driven by an outflow from the Temple Water. The setting for the house is magnificent, within a beautiful walled landscape park running down to the shores of Strangford Lough.

One of Ulster's most important houses, built in the mid-18th century by John Cole, father of the 1st Earl of Enniskillen, and famous for its rococo plasterwork and fine pieces of Irish furniture. 1998 saw the return of many original paintings, furniture and other artifacts to the house. The house is surrounded by garden, parkland and woodland, and there are outstanding views to the mountains beyond. The walled garden contains a holiday cottage, and the pleasure grounds boast interesting features such as a summer-house and water-powered sawmill.
